Breastfeeding Thrush Symptoms
When thrush is an issue, mother and infant may both present with symptoms, or it may just be one of them. For the infant, the thrush presents as oral thrush, severe diaper rashes and other skin problems. For the mother, breastfeeding thrush symptoms may include:
- Red or pinkish nipples; may have a rash-like appearance.
- Blisters or scabs on nipples.
- Itching and/or pain around nipples or the entire breast.
- Nipples may appear swollen.
- Sensitive and irritated nipples.
- Pain during nursing and/or showering.
